Thankfully, I don’t have these worries anymore, and my babysitting services are not in high demand, but, the question of necessary documentation for travel from Canada to Curaçao with minor children has come up a lot, so here we go.
Much Thanks to C4C member, MB, for doing all the research and pulling this info together.

When travelling with children it is always good to have the long form birth certificate, even if your child is traveling with both parents. They changed the rules July 2023 in Curaçao, necessitating the need for additional paperwork for foreigners (and residents) travelling with children under 18 years of age. This is especially important if you are travelling with your child alone or you are divorced and have a custody agreement.

Residents of Curaçao travelling with children under 18 also need additional papers and permission when traveling that are obtained in Curaçao. You first have to go to “Bentana di Informashon” in Salina to make an appointment in order to get a “Uittreksel” at Kranshi. Here’s the location. (next to the Subway in Salina).
Either way you need to be able to prove it is your child if they question you. They may not ask you, BUT we know of instances where a parent was traveling with a child alone and were questioned as to where the other parent was, and did they know they took the child out of the country to Curaçao. They made them call the other parent to verify they were aware. Nowadays, with so many instances where kids and their parents have different last names, and so many horrible crimes going on, they are just being more cautious
Most people have no clue this extra info is needed in Curaçao but it is listed on the Canadian government travel website under the Children & Travel section of Curaçao info.
I found it easier to wait until my kids moved out and then come here. We all make choices.
