In 1976, my mom moved to Curaçao to marry a wonderful man from the island. She stayed 10 years, and my 2 brothers were born here. My family, including all my amazing aunts, uncles, cousins, etc., created a connection between the island and me that stayed with me my whole life. My wife has developed a strong connection as well, through our many, many visits to our second home.

Now that I have retired, my wife and I have finally moved to the place we belong.

We discovered that leaving Canada to move to a new country has some obstacles!! Things like taxes, health care, employment, shipping, etc, are all mysteries until you do some digging. We want to help anyone planning a similar voyage by creating a community of Canadians that love Curaçao as much as we do and who want to help one another succeed in achieving their dream of never shoveling another freaking snowflake in their lives!!
